Moflin: The purest soothing device in the registry, from the company that made your calculator
Moflin domesticus
IN VERIFICATION REGIONAL
Moflin is Casio's furry handheld AI pet — guinea-pig-like, screenless, with 4M+ emotional states that develop a personality through touch and sound. It sold out repeatedly in Japan and launched in the US/UK in October 2025 at $429 with per-customer purchase limits. Not officially sold in the EU as of August 2026.
What it is
Moflin is Casio’s furry handheld pet — screenless, buttonless, roughly the size and temperament of a sleepy guinea pig. $429 in the US and UK (¥59,400 in Japan), sold through Casio’s own store with per-customer purchase limits after repeated Japanese sellouts. Its single organ of expression is movement and sound; its claimed inner life is a four-million-state emotional model that develops a personality from how you handle it.
Observed behavior
The owner record describes a slow-growth attachment unusual in this class: Moflin does little on day one, and that is the design. Owners report the personality divergence becoming noticeable over weeks — theirs wriggles at pickup, a friend’s doesn’t — tracked through the companion MofLife app, which remains optional to the core experience of simply holding the thing. The vocabulary owners reach for is horticultural: you don’t operate a Moflin, you cultivate one. Japanese sellout queues and the western purchase limits suggest Casio underestimated how many adults wanted exactly this.

Living with it
No subscription, no camera, no screen: the sensor manifest is the cleanest in the companion-pet class next to Eilik’s, which matters for a device designed to be held by whoever in the household needs holding. The registry’s two cautions: EU buyers currently have no official channel — US/UK/Japan only as of August 2026, and this page tracks that gap — and an Amazon US listing exists whose seller we have not verified, so the only link we’ll print is Casio’s own store. It is the most expensive object in this registry that does almost nothing, and the owner record suggests that is precisely the point.

Field questions
Can I buy Moflin in Europe?
Not officially as of August 2026 — Casio sells it in the US, UK, and Japan through its own store. EU buyers currently rely on imports; we track this on this page.
Does Moflin need an app?
The MofLife app tracks its emotional development, but the core petting-and-bonding experience is screenless and app-optional.
